Connecting All Our Relations

When you stop and consider those words ... connecting all our relations ... it can be pretty mind-boggling. Especially if your perspective is that of cultures whose traditional concept of "family" isn't limited to blood relatives.

Even looking only at the 12 states and at least 63 tribes, more than 30 of which still exist today, you're still talking about trying to connect a lot of people.

Tanasi Journal is the most signficant and intense project WKI has implemented to date. To publish a newsletter regularly is a challenge. To publish a newspaper regularly is a fulltime job. And, for me, it's a job I'm looking forward to with enthusiasum, hope, and as much patience as I can possibly muster.

We have a good team for the beginning of our young paper. More importantly, we have a good objective: Bring the news of the Indian communities - on or off reservation - to all the community. Educate, inform and yes, sometimes even entertain.
