Planting Seeds

"If we are to
grow good corn,
we must
help our neighbors
grow good corn."
1

Wisdom Keepers, Inc., has been working toward its mission for the past 9 years by developing web-based resources, hard copy resources, and perfecting formats for cultural events and activities that provide education from indigenous people about their own cultures. Those 9 years of hard work have not been in vain. We are ready to take that next step toward fulfilling our vision and mission ...

... and we're inviting you to join us!

Our vision is a society that is not bound by skin color, culture, religion, or gender, but by values and accomplishments judged by knowledge and understanding. We seek to create opportunities that celebrate, uplift, and provide education about the wondrous diversity of the world’s original indigenous tribal people.

We see a future bright with the colors of hope. We see cultures able to share freely without fear of exploitation. We see the preservation of the best of the past to create a better tomorrow.

We see you as our partner in changing the future for the better.

You can play an important part in this process. You can personally help us take this next and all-important step. By joining Wisdom Keepers as a Supporting Member, you help us continue our existing projects like Nancy Ward Cherokee Heritage Days, create yet more resources for use by educators and individuals alike, hold classes on tribal arts and languages, conferences, and other activities, and help us grow good corn!

Only the Beginning ...

Investigate our available resources and projects. The harvest from these activities has been weighed and has, indeed, resulted in the beginning of a change in perception. We've documented that change through program evaluations, participation numbers, and increased input and support of qualified presenters. These are only the beginning of our efforts to grow good corn, just a sample of what Wisdom Keepers, Inc., can do with your help.

Community Participation = Community Harvest ...

"If we are to achieve a richer culture, rich in contrasting values, we must recognize the whole gamut of human potentialities. We must weave a social fabric in which each diverse human gift will find a fitting place. Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has."2

In order for everyone to benefit, we must all work together toward the final crop. We must each find a way to till the soil, plant the seeds, and nourish the crops until the fruits are ready to harvest. WKI has other projects still on the drawing board; more events, more programs, and more resources. Those projects are simply waiting for the field to be turned, their seeds to be planted, and the crop to reach harvest.

Your support , whether financial or through volunteering, will help us implement those projects - projects that would provide a perpetual source of funding not only for WKI activities, but also for other Native organizations, as well as scholarships for indigenous children, seed grants for Native business ventures, and limitless opportunities for Native people.
