New Resources Coming to
www.wisdomkeepers.org

Everything happens for a reason. That's a rule we live by at WKI.

We were forced to disable our previous site after a hacker found a way to exploit the software we were using to power it. While it was traumatic for us and a definite set back in several ways, we chose to turn it into an opportunity. We looked over our resources, and both our current and pending projects, and decided to take some time to build a new, more secure site, update our existing resources, and add some new online resources. We look forward to developing the following online resources over the next 6-12 months. We hope you will, too!

At Grandfather's Knees: Indigenous Oral Traditions and Histories

WKI is honored to announce our upcoming oral traditions (story) resource and would like to publicly thank Blue Panther for helping us make this new resource possible. The site will feature the transcribed and recounted oral traditions of numerous indigenous nations from the Americas and around the world. The stories will be cross-indexed by nation of origin, subject matter, and geographic culture area. Other indices will be developed as we enter the building stage. The first phase will focus on getting the story texts online, after which we will work to find appropriate illustrations, incorporate relevant native languages, and develop educator resources to go along with the site.

K-WKI

Shhhh ... don't tell anyone, but at WKI we've learned that, sometimes, the best way to get something done is to do it your self. Mainstream print and broadcast media is not overly famous for delivering indigenous news, views, movies, etc, in a regular or culturally accurate fashion. WKI is currently exploring funding opportunities to implement K-WKI, a broadcast media project featuring both live and on-demand broadcasts. If you're interested in supporting or participating in this project, please contact devmgr at wisdomkeepers dot org.

Wowicake

American Indians don't pay taxes, get free housing, and get paid through regular monthly checks from the federal government to do nothing. Truth or falsehood? Stay tuned for the release of Wowicake and find out!
