Vacancies: 0 About the Executive Committee The Executive Committee of WKI (WKI EC) consists of the Chief Voluntary Officer (CVO), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Chief Compliance Officer (CCO). The positions are appointed by the Board of Directors who may choose to fill the positions from their own officers or, in the event an officer does not reside in the area of WKI’s base operations (Knoxville, TN), from other current board members or past board members who are willing to continue serving the organization. FunctionProvide management and administration of the organization in lieu of paid staff, represent it to the community and, as an extension or subdivision of the Board of Directors, share in accepting the ultimate legal authority for it. Member Requirements, Term Length, Term Limits- Must be a current or past member of the Board of Directors and a permanent legal resident of Tennessee, preferably the Knoxville Metropolitan Statistical Area

Duties & Responsibilities- Act on behalf of the board to manage and administrate the day-to-day business of the organization and serve as a point of contact for constituents, including service recipients, funders, members, the government, and taxpayers
- Act as liaison to and for the board to ensure smooth and timely flow of communication and notification of emergent and compliance issues
- Provides technical assistance as required, requested or directed to CPC and/or project teams
- Responsible for directing fulfillment of the organization's mission and the transparency and accountability of its operations through effective, positive leadership and management of volunteers and paid staff, appropriate record keeping and documentation, and preparation and distribution of the organization’s communications and other reports
- Ensures fulfillment of organization’s legal, tax and funding requirements
- Work with board to maintain a clear organizational mission, strategic plan for accomplishing the mission, and oversee and evaluate the plan's success
- Work with board to ensure sustainability of the organization
- Interpret and represent the community to the organization
- Implement and enforce policies and procedures developed by the Board for human resource management including staff and volunteers
- Ensures board, Community Planning Committee and project team leaders are kept informed of organizational mission, services, policies and programs, developments in the organization’s field, and emergent and compliance issues
Candidate Qualifications- Current or previous experience and service as a member of WKI’s board of directors
- Above average knowledge and understanding of non-profit or business management
- Embraces the mission, vision and values of the organization
- Has ability to listen, analyze, think clearly and creatively, work well with people individually and in a group.
- Is willing to prepare for and attend board and committee meetings, ask questions, take responsibility and follow through on a given assignment, contribute to fundraising efforts, open doors in the community, self-evaluate as needed
- Is willing to further develop existing skills and develop new skills as needed or warranted including skills needed to cultivate and solicit funds, cultivate and recruit volunteers, partners and other participants, prepare and present financial statements and other reports, give public presentation on organization and its programs and projects.
